This module was named fashion industry, the task was to design and make a garment that capture our chosen safe space, we also had to use materials donated by idea and complete this with a quick turn around of 5 weeks.
My safe space is my sister Emily, and focused my designs on the shape of the sister necklaces we have recived so many of as a children and our favourite colours, pink, purple and yellow. I incorporated the zigzag shape into the form of my design, and experiment with draping which was really fun.
For this module we were also required to have a print on our final piece, after playing around with print designs I chose to do a simple heart due to time and the lack of specialised equipment. I did this in a very DIY method, cutting up sponges into heart shapes and using acrylic paint..
I loved my final portfolio to this module and was able developed my draping and pattern cutting skills As well.
